VINCI
Vinci is a town located in northern Tuscany, on the Montalbano hills rich in vineyards and olive groves. Vinci is the land of Leonardo and the Leonardo Museum is one of the most important museums in Tuscany. The Museo Ideale Leonardo da Vinci is dedicated to figure of Leonardo and to the complexity of his genius. The area around Vinci is also characterized by an high level wine production.The most famous wine is the Chianti of Montalbano, a red wine of excellent quality famous and exported all over the world.
FIRENZE
Florence is universally recognized as one of the art cradles, culture and architecture, and renowned as one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Florence has a lot of numerous and beautiful monuments and museums, including the Cathedral with Giotto's Bell Tower, the church of Santa Croce, the Uffizi, Ponte Vecchio, Piazza della Signoria, the David of Michelangelo, the monumental Fortezza da Basso and Piazzale Michelangelo with its breathtaking view over the city. Florence was home to famous artists, thinkers, writers and scientists who have contributed to make the city one of the most important centers of world culture in the world. Very famous and interesting is the traditional Florentine cooking with a large variety of local products: from traditional dishes like the famous Florentine steak to hight quality wines, especially those coming from the Chianti area.
SIENA
Siena is an historic city located in central Tuscany in the middle of a vast landscape that began to flourish in the first half of the twelfth century, becoming an important commercial and banking center in opposition to Florence. The city is home to a major university and is rich in monuments and buildings of great interest such as Piazza del Campo, where the famous Palio di Siena takes place, Palazzo Comunale, Torre del Mangia, Chapel Square, Fonte Gaia, the lodges of the Pope; Logge of Mercanzia and the Duomo. There are also many events that take place in the city during the year, the Jazz Festival, Visionaria (festival of independent short films), the National Week of the oil, the Wine Week, Earth Siena (film festival of independent cinema), the Festival Contemporaneamente Barocco, dedicated to the Baroque art.
LUCCA
Lucca is one of the major art cities in Italy, its still intact boundary walls of the XV-XVII century gives the city a unique look. The city walls have been been transformed into a very suggestive and pleasant pedestrian walk. The old town has remained intact and you can admire the beautiful architecture in the numerous medieval churches (Lucca is known as the city of 100 churches) like those of San Frediano, San Michele in Foro and the Duomo of San Martino, Torre Guinigi, Palazzo Ducale, the historic Teatro del Giglio (UNESCO World Heritage Site) and beautiful urban spaces as Piazza dell'Anfiteatro built on the ruins of a Roman amphitheater, and the medieval street Fillungo, now very famous shopping area in the city.
PISA
Pisa is a Tuscan city rich in history and artistic monuments that make this city one of the Italy symbols in the world. One of the most important thing in Pisa is the famous Piazza del Duomo, also known as Piazza dei Miracoli (UNESCO World Heritage Site), with its characteristic leaning tower (called "the Tower of Pisa"), representing one of the most famous Italian monuments, the Romanesque Cathedral of the X century with its bronze portal, the Giovanni Battista Baptistry (the largest in Italy) and the Monumental Cemetery in whose courtyard is the land of Mount Golgota in Holy Land. Pisa has the most important airport in Tuscany , the "Galileo Galilei" and the city is home to three major universities: the University of Pisa, the Scuola Normale Superiore and the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna.
TOSCANA
Tuscany is an unique land: art and culture are not confined to major cities. Each village in the region has unique history and artistic beauties, as Certaldo (FI) with its old town of medieval origin, Volterra (PI) with evidence of prehistoric and Etruscan-Roman testimoniances and medieval and Renaissance monuments, San Gimignano ( SI), a small village of the thirtheenth century, perfectly preserved, with its fourteen medieval towers, Pienza (SI) with its historical center of the fifteenth century. The list would be endless, because Tuscany is full of towns rich in art, culture and gastronomic traditions.
LA TOSCANA ED IL VINO
Among the major productions in Tuscany, the one of wine is certainly one of the most firmly established productions in the area and which contributes to the uniqueness of the Tuscan landscape. Among the most famous wines we can list Brunello di Montalcino, Chianti (produced in different variants in the provinces of Arezzo, Florence, Pisa, Pistoia, Prato and Siena), the Morellino di Scansano, Vernaccia di San Gimignano (white) and the Vino Nobile di Montepulciano.
